Vendor FAQ

Q. Why does waveriders.org distribute through individuals, organizations, as well as retailers?

A. We choose to spend our marketing dollars on the oldest and most truthful form of marketing, word of mouth. We pay individuals or groups to sell our products.

Q. How much do I need to invest to start my business?

A. Every waveriders djembe comes with a membership. Each drum has a unique number located on the logo plate that's embedded in its shell: this number is your member number, and entitles you to commissions from the referral of new customers.

Q. How do I get paid?

A. You get paid by referring sales. Every time a sale is entered using your number, you will make a commission. Members will receive credit for referrals immediately and they can be redeemed after the 14 day, no-questions return policy has passed. Vendors can redeem these commissions as cash or use them in the waveriders marketplace.

Q. Do I lose my commission status for inactivity?

A. No. Your commission status is not dependent on current activity.

Q. Are my earnings taxable?

A. All commissions paid up to the original purchase price of the drum are classified as rebates and are not taxable. Commissions paid beyond original purchase amount are taxable.

Q. What is the difference between a member and a vendor?

A. A vendor has selected an electronic form of payment and agreed to vendor terms and can be paid in cash. A member can make a referral and get credit in the waveriders.org marketplace.

Q. Are there sales territories?

A. There are no sales territories. Vendors are free to sell worldwide, and must abide by local regulations and tax laws.
